 “Induction and OrientationTraining Programme” for the newly recruited Technicians T-1)” from 15th May to 14th June2024 organized by  ICAR –IIHR

The ICAR –IIHR, Bengaluru organized the Induction and Orientation Training Programme for the newly recruited Technicians (T-1) for about one month period from 15th May – 14th June 2024. The newly recruited 31 technicians of ICAR – IIHR were trained at IACR-IIHR, Bengaluru to expose the trainees to acquire knowledge, skills and attitude to be inculcated to work at ICAR-IIHR in the capacity of technicians.The newly recruited technicialns  represent 8 states of India. The programme started with the inaugural session conducted on 15th May 2024, chaired by Dr. PrakashPatil, Director (Acting) and addressed by all Heads of Divisions and Nodal Officer (PME) of ICAR–IIHR, Bengaluru.

          The programme schedule was structured with theory, practical classes, field visits, demonstrations, village visit and hands on training on crop improvement, production, protection and utilization of horticultural science and technologies, besides various skills imparted through behavioral exercises like personality tests, time management, team building and positive thinking exercises. The Valedictory Session for the programme was held on 14.06.2024 presided by Dr. T. K. Behera, Director, ICAR–IIHR, Bengaluru. Dr. Jayaraghavendra Rao, Programme coordinator presented the training report and complemented that the training had resulted in 68.42% gain in knowledge of the trainees, as revealed through the pre-and post-evaluation tests conducted during the training programme. After distributing the participation certificates to the trainees, Dr. T.K. Behera, Director, IIHR delivered the Presidential address.He highlighted the role of technical services in ICAR system and stressed the importance of discipline, punctuality, sincerity and dedication in delivering their duties for collective success of the institute. The entire training programme was coordinated by Dr. Umamaheswari R, Nodal Officer (HRD); Dr. Jayaraghavendra Rao VK, Head i/c, Division of Social Sciences & Training; Shri. Sachin Agnihotri, CAO (SG) and Dr. Prakash Patil, Project Coordinator (Fruits), ICAR–IIHR, Bengaluru.
